Chiropractic Care

The team of Chiropractors at Fernie Chiropractic are primary healthcare professionals who have completed the Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) program at a leading education and research facility.  They are highly trained practitioners who effectively employ a multi-faceted functional approach to assess and manage spinal and nervous system injuries.  They also focus on soft tissue conditions and manage athletic performance.

Our team of chiropractors have collectively provided chiropractic care to athletes and non-athletes alike for decades.  They have treated Olympic athletes, professional athletes from World Cup skiing and snowboarding, professional mountain bikers, and professional golfers.

Regarded as leaders in the field of chiropractic care, our team of chiropractors have been involved with teaching and lecturing at a number of academic institutions, professional conferences and sporting events.

What services do our Chiropractors offer?

Chiropractic Manipulation techniques are used to normalize joint mechanics.  The primary technique that is used at our office is the diversified adjusting technique.  However, other techniques that are used include drop table, instrument assisted adjusting, and pelvic blocking.

Exercise therapy is used to assisted in scar tissue break down, mobilize joints to aid in inflammation control and coordination, core strengthening, proprioceptive retraining, stretching, movement patterning, nerve flossing and nerve stretching.

Muscle release therapy uses deep massage and pressure points combined with functional motion to break up scar tissue and adhesions that can form due to direct injury or repetitive movement over time.

Graston Technique® uses a specially-designed tool to identify and treat areas of fascial tension to improve quality of movement and to treat injuries just as tendinopathies. This technique is highly effective is reorganizing scar tissue in the muscle tendons and fascial plains.

Kinesotaping® uses Kinesio® Tex Tape (therapeutic elastic tape) in a specialized manner to correct muscle function and improve neuro-motor control, and aid in inflammation control.

Electromodalities or muscle stimulation uses a very low amperage electrical current in various frequencies to treat nerve and muscle pain.
